French presses can be used to make tea, coffee, and froth milk. Milk frothing involves the rapid pressing and pulling of the plunger to create milk foam.
Making coffee:
Prepare coffee: Use coarsely ground coffee.
Warm water: Heat water to the desired temperature. (about 90-94 degrees)
Pour ground coffee: Pour ground coffee into the French press.
Pour water: Pour hot water over the ground coffee.
Mix: Mix gently and leave for the desired time.
Press plunger: Slowly press the plunger down to separate the coffee from the water.
Making tea:
Prepare tea: Use the desired tea leaves.
Warm water: Heat water to the recommended temperature for the tea you are brewing. (about 90-94 degrees)
Pour tea leaves: Pour tea leaves into the French press.
Pour water: Pour hot water over the tea leaves.
Mix: Mix gently and leave for the desired time.
Press plunger: Slowly press the plunger down to separate the tea leaves from the water.
Frothing milk:
Warm milk: Gently warm milk, do not let it boil. (Temperature about 60 degrees)
Pour milk into French press: Pour milk into French press.
Press and pull plunger: Press and pull plunger up and down quickly to create foam, up and down quickly and continuously (about 10-15 seconds) to force air particles into milk.
Check foam volume: Repeat until foam increases to about 50% of total volume of milk.
Pour milk: Pour the foamed milk into the desired cup or glass. For example, latte, cappuccino.
